This week a friend who also plays World of Warcraft offered me access to a spare account he’s cleared out of useful characters, consolidating from 3 accounts to 2, but which is pre-paid for some months yet. The thing is that this friend is in Europe. We did a little poking around to figure out how I might connect, and found what’s necessary. Full of trepidation and curiosity, I took my first steps into a European realm.
My friend mostly plays Alliance there, so I went for the full stereotype, making a night elf hunter. (Still, I believe, the single most popular combination of race and class.) This was about noon GMT on Friday, and to my lack of surprise, Teldrassil general chat was quiet. I ran toward the city of Darnassus to meet up with my friend’s main character and receive the gift of some bags and money. I stepped into the city environs, gained access to the capital-city chat channels, and in mere seconds saw this:
2. Trade – City. I NEED ENCANTS MADE WERE U FIND MAKER 4 ENCANTS
I told my friend I could have stayed home for that.
If any actually interesting differences or similarities emerge, I’ll let y’all know, of course.
